"Woman In Mind" Susan is forty-something and starved of affection by her vicar husband and distant son. Her life revolves around a kitchen sink, floral print dresses and a small manicured garden inhabited only by a concrete frog. Until one morning, she steps on a rake and knocks herself out. When she wakes, husband and son are still there. But so is a devoted fantasy husband, brimming with charm. Not to mention a pair of fantasy children; perfect, winsome, straight out of a catalogue. Susan basks in the adoration of her imaginary family, managing to balance the fantasy she relishes with the tedium of her real life, but inevitably, events spin out of control and chaos and farce build to a comically frenzied and nightmarish climax. "Woman In Mind" is surreal, wonderfully comic, and deeply thought-provoking. “Ayckbourn at his best” -- New York Times |

"A Child's Christmas In Wales" Join us for the world premiere of SCT’s original adaptation of the Dylan Thomas classic. "I can never remember whether it snowed for six days and six nights when I was twelve or whether it snowed for twelve days and twelve nights when I was six; or whether the ice broke and the skating grocer vanished through a white trap-door on that same Christmas Day that the mince-pies finished Uncle Arnold and we tobogganed down the seaward hill on the best tea-tray, and Mrs Griffiths complained, and we threw a snowball at her niece, and my hands burned so, with the heat and the cold, when I held them in front of the fire, that I cried for twenty minutes and then had some jelly." The music, laughter, and gentle smiles remind us that Christmas is best loved through the eyes of a child. |

The Hollanders have embarked on a tour of Europe. In an unnamed Eastern European country, they take a few too many pictures of a military base lined with razor wire, are marked by the Communist government as American spies, and barely outrun them to the US Embassy. There, the ambassador's incompetent son Axel, who hasn't managed to last more than two months in any Foreign Service job, may not know the first thing about getting the Hollanders back to Jersey or getting the Communists to stop burning them in effigy....but he does manage to build an infatuation with the Hollander's daughter. A madcap, absurdly hilarious comedy! “A comic masterpiece!” -- Talkin’ Broadway |
